Cherryhill Manufacturing:
A Fine Finish to a Smooth Start

The company's U-SAND floor sander technology combines a drum sander, edger and buffer into one convenient machine.

For 10 years Cherryhill Manufacturing has been committed to supplying its customers with a superior floor sanding product. The company's U-SAND floor sander technology eliminates the cost and inconvenience of using three machines by replacing a drum sander, edger and buffer with one unit that won't gouge or damage floors.

But a decade ago the U-SAND floor sander was still in prototype development. With the financial help and business support services offered by Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern Pennsylvania, the company's technology has since revolutionized the floor sanding industry.

"When we started this company with our partners in 1999, Ben Franklin gave us financing and repayment terms for the product development that were so reasonable, we were eventually able to purchase our own facility and add other products to our line. Today, we employ 18 people and are pleased to make the final installment on Ben Franklin's investment in our company," says Cyrus Kirsch, who co-owns the company with his wife, Mary.

Steve Brawley, president and CEO of Ben Franklin, says, "It's been our pleasure to watch the folks at Cherryhill turn an innovative idea into a successful business in Indiana County. We accept their final payment and offer our admiration for a job well done."
